What you were doing before this occurred: I was holding my Halloween Hat and accidentally placed it down, and when I tried to pick it up it was just a regular JackO'Lantern.

What you were doing before this occurred: I was doing nothing because I logged in and it was there. I logged in and walked over to my Coal Generator and tried to put coal into it, but only to see that it wouldn't open. I mined it and instead of it being a Coal Generator is was a CSG Core's Head.
