Recently, the new job was added to McCities. Already, there has been a big problem that I've noticed.

Who is seriously gonna pay someone to find them a house if they think "oh, I could pay this dude, or take the super easy exam and become one myself!!"
Why would I trust this person if they just pass a 5 question easy quiz? Are they trusted by staff and the community?
etc...

So here are my thoughts for improvement:

Make it harder to become one.
I took the exam this morning thinking it would be a complex exam. Nope, it was 5 questions. The first four were on commands, and the fifth was "what do realtors do."
Then, I noticed that literally everyone on the server was a realtor and advertising as one.
Then I was like "oh, well, that's useless."
Then I kept thinking how can this be solved? What would a good solution be?

Well, I have to options here.

Create an application system on the forums with a realtor guide

This is my favorite one. There are only a few applications. Arch, police, teacher, and staff. All of these get closed when we have enough. I feel like honestly making an application system for realtor would benefit the community so you know you wouldn't be getting scammed when you hire a realtor.

Currently, anyone can become a realtor.

Most people won't trust a tourist realtor to know what they are talking about, tbh.

But....

When someone has the rank of Citizen, you have no idea how long they have been playing for (other than by using /g player, but most people don't know about that command).

Therefore, let's look at this situation. Person A is a person who hasn't been playing for very long. They take the quiz and know absolutely nothing about the economy and how to price houses, and all of a sudden another newer person (person B) hires this person A to buy a house. Since person A knows literally nothing about the economy and how houses are priced (because there is no guide), person B could end up paying way too much and could get scammed very easily.

See my point? Besides, almost EVERYONE has become a realtor so far just so they can have perms. I personally think that people should earn their perms.

The second option is make the exam harder (have it include economical questions and house pricing questions) and have a required rank to take it

This could also be a good option for people. This would actually TEACH people how to be a realtor, rather than let everyone be one and run into a mess of scams.

Either way...

I still think that there should be a realtor guide, and people should be required to follow it or risk losing their job. If a cop does something against the police guide, they'll end up getting demoted if they continue to do so. Why shouldn't it be the same with the people who price houses and sell them? With the people who are supposed to be professional in their work (like irl realtors)? With the people who actively work with the people of McCities and help them?

Those are just my thoughts. Feel free to give yours down below.

True some guy was advertising a random house for 3mil but it was set as 3m just for /find purposes cause the real price was being auctioned on forums for around 800k ish.

The test is literally the easiest easier than doctor, for doctor you would need to atleast read the guide or know a bit but realtor takes what like 3 seconds, easy 100 score its literal commands only.

I think someone can manage this like our Minister of P or in other words the Minister of Plots: Joey.

It could be similar to police cop staff where a minister/owner manages each department. I think there could be questions, are you frequently involved in the buy and sell market for plots?
There could also be an HQ that could be updated by someone lower than Minister of P, a /warp maybe.
Something like a Plot International Center or something like that.
There would be trending plots like if a lot of players are interested in it.
The assistant of the one managing the realtors could handle that.
More complicated questions are recommended and the player should atleast own a number of properties.
And besides this a new rule could be made lending properties for the realtor application is bannable. Like its easily noticed let's say player A becomes a realtor with 5 mansions, he passes it on to his friend so he has enough cap limit to apply then gives it back. It would be a bit unfair.

To be honest people like me don't even do the job, were all just dependent on expanding our own businesses and not others for example I want to see all the good mansions, so I just want /find purposes only.

People honestly just want the command and use it for selfish purposes.

On the system of "trending plots", every time a realtor does /find the player gets $50 per /find going to that plot, one per player. This will then see how many Realtors visited that plot giving income to both the seller and people can easily see which plots are commonly viewed.

Someway it could be abused players close and open their reselling properties to reset the $50 but that wont be much since it would get reset in the "trending plots" anyways.

The HQ would have not necessarily offices, its not really needed but a board of commands, list of realtors, and Trending Plots.
The job promotion could be something like
Realtor -> Trusted Realtor
Assistant/Chief/Admin (Second in Command Role): Hired by Minister of P or whoever is in charge
Head: Minister of P, Joey (ideally he would be the best choice as it revolves around plot besides Joey is the only Minister without a department)

Maybe there could be someway to check which plots are trending
Perms only given to Head and Second in Command.
The assistant or second in command is in charge of updating trending plots, everyday/every other day/ weekly.
Hopefully something in between a good schedule.

Hopefully its a Rank and not a Job since most players already have 2 Jobs, and one is usually their main job and the second is sub job or teacher. So still want to give the players their original job while giving this Job into a Rank with better purposes.

Minister of P or the Head
-Applictions
-Manages the Realtors
-In Charge of Promotions

Second in Command or Assistant
-Updating the Trending Plots
-Manages the Realtor
-In Charge of Vouching possible promotable realtors or overlooking the team who is doing a good job and can be up for promotions

These are some of my thoughts so far.
Feel Free to give suggestions or comments

Like again it has been a struggle and dosent go with the name at all with the people part and amount of people involved who don't know much about the role they're given.

Make it that realtor has more to do then just find and actually helps the community.

He can do this by:
-helping people buy the good priced houses
-report regions (wich he can get paid for)
-get a rating if people teleport to him (something similar to the /helpme process he can earn 250-500$ if he helps players.
-give tours around city.
-help people sell their houses as they clearly know plot prices.

There would be some rules like: always ask the same price as other realtors otherwise you get demoted.

Behave properly and help players.

Give the best advise you can give and do your best fixing the economy.

Joey would be head of dep but I domt think it will take much work just a bit of checking the realtors. I suggest making a helper also involved and that helpers have to check of the realtors do there job well.

Also prefixes would be needed this way people know who to ask :)

Thats was it I think :) maybe I see some improvements asap but for now this is my idea for the realtor job

tbh these are great ideas, and the exam is too simple , but i actually feel like everyone should have access to /find like how it was before. Some people go independant and don't want to pay someone too find no houses..... i don't like this realtor jobs because i LOVE /find and thats how i live on cities, now i need to do the quiz just to have an access? Idk feel like its a waste of job
