Earl Ciel Phantomhive (シエル・ファントムハイヴ, Shieru Fantomuhaivu) is the current head of the Phantomhive house,[4] the notorious Queen's Watchdog,[5] the owner of the Funtom Corporation, and an Aristocrat of Evil.
Ciel is a short, thirteen-year-old boy with bluish-black hair and rich, deep blue eyes. As described by Nina Hopkins, his tailor, Ciel has a "wonderfully proportioned body." His arms and legs are thin, his shoulders slim and his waist narrow.[8] Ciel typically dresses in a way that suits his noble standing, and he has a very extensive wardrobe.

Ciel nearly always wears a black eye-patch made of gauze[9] with a single cord over his right eye to hide the location of his Faustian Contract with Sebastian Michaelis. However, while in disguise, he wears a white patch that resembles a transdermal patch, which fastens over his ear with two cords.[10][11] Ciel also has a brand on the left side of his body from his time as a slave in a cult.[12]

The deep, dark depths of my mind
The series is actually pretty good and it is much more than that simple descriptions as said above. There is season 1, season 2, Book of Circus(season 3), Book of Murder(an OVA), and Book of Atlantic(movie). There is also a live-action movie that was release quite recently but I prefer the animated series which falls under the category of anime, but it can be classified as a t.v. show(although it is an anime through and through).

Going further into the characters, Ciel's story is much larger and darker than simply, "being a slave for a cult", on his birthday as a young boy, the Phantomhive manor was set aflame killing both his mother and father. He was then taken by the cult, summoned Sebastian(a demon), made a contract with him to help him achieve his revenge at all costs and the contract symbol resides in his eye for the reason that the more visible it is, the stronger the contract between the human and demon is. Doing such action in summary, means that Ciel has sold his soul to Sebastian whom will eat it when Ciel dies.

As for Sebastian, not much is known about him, but he is rumored to have been a sociopath(or psychopath? I can't remember) while he was human.

Including the fact that there are demons, further along into the series shinigami(reapers if none of you guys know) and angels appear and hold a little bit of a role in the anime. Demons and angels have a continuous rivalry throughout Black Butler but after season 2 they seem to leave the series and not hold much purpose at all.

Fun fact: The author of the Black Butler manga, or Kuroshitsuji, is unknown and she portrays herself as a little devil to avoid revealing her face.

There you go, a little more in depth look at the series of Black Butler and I do encourage others to watch it if you like mystery, suspense, and if you are fine with a tad bit of gore and blood.
