I am sure by now you know islands don't have proper rules or guides in place (10/10 @nibble), so if you have any ideas or suggestions for the new rules to be forced on island owners, post them below. It's an open discussion so feel free to point out the pros/cons of your/others' ideas

rules are like: buildings standards, island layout, island terrain consistency, taxes etc

thanks

One thing I'd suggest is that island owners or other trusted personnel have to approve every build transfer to the island. While a build may meet city requirements, they may not meet the island requirements
Exactly, this is what runnerboro is asking to do but we don't have a response, because I can make educated guesses this is aimed at us :p

what do you mean by taxes, though, would it be something allowed? Also island terrain consistency, would that be making it consistently terraformed or flat consistent? Just wondering, tysm!

Are private islands like Captain included in this? The island has no regions on it, so really, only added players have access to the island anyways.

For City islands, I would reccommend that large plots such as mansions/skyscrapers have to be approved before transfer (to make sure it fits with the surrounding area)

I think it would depend on island owners for example what if you had this island with 5 houses only for your 5 friends and you just want all your friends to have houses on your island, I don't think we would need to implace taxes on that. I think one thing we would need would be to have an optional island warp, and taxes would go to straight to island owners somewhat like using landlord of the plots. I'm not sure but, if this would be allowed may be too much, but island owners could get plots that shows on their land lord and on autosale it would be set to them to be somewhat like island property. One of the problems that also occurs is that regioning plots on your island is kind of hard, maybe each island could have a /as me so all the regioned plots that get regioned are automatically set owner to the island, and the owner of the island has control of it and can use it for selling or use it for holding the island properties that are regioned. The /as me of the island would not allow you to send plots to it and would only allow it to hold plots for example you got a museum or fishing area, you could set that to island /as me so island owners wont need to have the problem of having too much plots in /as me if they're facilities that you don't want you friends added to the island to have access to. Example would be /as me undeadland then would pop out let's say undeadlandmuseum, undeadhouse-1 so when staff region it it automatically gets set to the island its on so island owners can send it to his account but can't send plots back in it unless done by staff to prevent using this as a second account for plot storage. And lets say you plan to sell the island, all the plots owned by the island or the plots in it /as me is still in there so you wouldn't need to sell each and every facility.

Yeah CP, this was in no way aimed at Runnerboro. It was aimed at your build on Bunny. Thanks!

I'm just going to say what Heather told me when I got my first island in order to keep it looking nice.

1. The island owner can establish a certain style for their island, and if you don't conform your build to those around you the island owner will give you a notice.

2. You may not expand your island to meet around the border so that it no longer looks natural, sort of what sadly happened to Bunny island. (Pretty standard)

3. Island onwers can issue notices to plot owners about plots, and if these people don't comply you may get a staff involved.

4. All plots must have a road going to it. (that's standard)

5. All builds must meet city build standards (obviously).

All of these I feel like you can use common sense for, but sadly many island owners have ruined their islands to the point where they're just blocks in the ocean that look that they were world edited in. If there are islands in the future I think these should be rules that everyone knows of.

I kinda agree to it to bigger more populated islands like bunny and runnerboro, but dosent concern me much since I don't got much residents and I usually warn and take the plots of those who don't have builds in it but most not all have good builds.

Majority of the builds on undeadland are by you which follow a certain style so I think it's pretty nice so far.

I think there should be a terrain rule for islands. There should be some trees, shorelines, a hill or two, a lake, and other things to make it look more than just a slab of grass. For example, on bunny, there's a hill overlooking a harbor. That's pretty realistic/natural.

I like the island warp idea, for Citizens+ the optional warp would cost $50, and a percentage of that could go to the island owners? Just an idea, leave your comments below.

There could be some general island rules and the island owners could "fill in the blank" to fit their preferences. Examples: All houses on the island must be __________ (build style, like modern, traditional, medieval). Apartment buildings are only allowed on plots with _______ (something like bludsky or bobsky) in the region name. Houses/buildings made out of ________________________ (blocks such as obsidian, purpur blocks, netherbrick, gold blocks, etc.) are prohibited. Regions that are left empty, half-built, or have prohibited blocks on the exterior will be given a warning after __ (7,10, 14, etc.) days, and the plot will be forcibly taken if you are active during this time and there is no change within __ (7, 10, 14, etc.) days. Optional, depends on what the island owners want: Before a house/building is transferred to the island, _______________ (username(s)) must approve the build.

Let me know what you think.

I like what that is, but I still am very much against how island owners are expanding their islands. I think that if you buy an island the price will reflect the size, and you should not be able to change that. The fill in the blanks is a good idea, and adding on to that I think that island owners should all just have an information hub, like most do now. This hub would have the fill in the blank, who you should contact, and any other additional information that the island owners and managers would like to add to. Basically, there would be no need for terrain rules if people simply left there island the way it was, a natural island in the ocean. If you expand your island you basically take away all the natural terrain and then there is a need for complex rules that no one needs to make everything more complicated.

might as well remove all server rules and implement communism. endy pls.
Communism sounds good. #powertotehpeople

Nah. If Communism came back I'd probably load up an interstellar space craft with doctors, scientists, computer scientists, philosophers and a select few people and go search for another habitable planet
