Apartment Rules

Dear Players of McCities. Please take note of the new Apartment Guidelines and make sure to follow them. The rules will be enforced from November 5th, 2019 and onward.

Apartments that do not follow the Guidelines will be refunded with 1 week of rent per apartment to the owner.
Players renting an apartment not fitting the standards will be moved to a new apartment and recieve 4 weeks of rent as a refund.

Apartment Rules:

-All apartments must be at least 225 blocks in total. Although smaller than 10 blocks wide/long isn't allowed.
-All apartment buildings must have 1 public facility. Like Restaurants, a Gym, Public Pool etc.
-All apartment buildings must have a hallway of at least 5 blocks wide for the elevator.
-All apartments must have at least 1 side with a window and recieve enough light in the daytime.
-Farms and Trees are not allowed in apartments anymore.
-Apartment rules must be stated on every floor and easy to understand for players renting the apartment.
-Grieved apartments can be reset by staff, however under certain curcomstances staff might decide not to.
-Exterior and Interior or Apartment Buildings must meet city standards.
-Apartment Buildings must have a lobby and easy to acces lifts inside the building.

We will re-region apartment buildings that currently don't meet the requirements to allow players to transition with the new regulations.

If we notice a shortage in apartments then we will indeed allow regioning again.

i cant stop noticing, not in a lack of apartments, but a lack of rentable workplaces

wot no fair, that means 2 of my apt wont meet standerds coz their meant to be rentable office spaces (they arent 15x15 but everything else it meets)

So we are certainly working on creating more rentable workspaces. However currently we feel that new players should no longer be forced to rent out small dark boxes and we hope that by upgrading the apartment guidelines they will be more satisfied and feel less need for a house which is generally out of their price range.

Also if your rentable region has another usage than apartment then it doesn't have to follow the apartment guidelines. However I am not sure if the regions will be allowed. It's really up to our jr admins to check it out once the server is back up.
