(PS: If this post is long sorry) A couple of players suggested to me and the island of Runnerboro government to update the forums about improvements on the island of Runnerboro. > Progress with the island
I would like to start the update post with the progress of the island. Each past President and the government has done successful plans to help the island and progress it into a modern city. Past mayors, for example, such a Kiri and a guy with a Minecraft username (no records of his user) were responsible with creating the road systems on Runnerboro which is a detailed system of roads, creating some of the nicest buildings, and helping build up the island from scratch. Since then around 2 years ago the island of Runnerboro has grown into one of the only island cities on McCities. Not only is Runnerboro one of the only island cities on Mccities but one of the island islands with a nice layout of skyscrapers and a modern city in the middle and houses around the city just like in real life where houses connect to the roads so you can have a house but be connected to the modern city. So I would like to give some quotes that I think details the improvements to the island and the governments work to continue to improve Runnerboro.
Eatsmith (Runnerboro owner)- “the island of Runnerboro is advancing fast into a beautiful modern city”
XXIronFistxX (server staff member+architect)- the island of Runnerboro has made many improvements for terraforming and other things. The island has improved a lot, and I've been watching it for about a year now. Like it honestly feels so realistic and has an amazing community.”
Dareff (server architect)- “the island has significantly improved in terrain and terraforming there are just minor spots left to terrain that can be easily done”
Justyourcasual (Governor of Runnerboro)- “the government is working 24/7 with each other, staff, builders, players, and server architects to have the best results in Runnerboro. The island of Runnerboro is in its best shape so far in the history of the island including in terraforming, infrastructure, public amenities, and city organization.”
LavaFlake (Vice President of Runnerboro+island owner+company owner)- “As a government member we work every day to develop plans for the island and are constantly communicating with each other on plans for the island”.
> Terraforming
The Runnerboro government has taken considerable action to completely terraform the island. From the new beach built by Posedion to terraforming arch projects being completed by Dareff to natural features and plants being added around the island. Yesterday the government had multiple players and architects to view the terraforming improvements of the island of Runnerboro. The players and server architects found that the island of Runnerboro has added significant terrain entities. Server architects have determined including with joint operations with the government that the island only has “small spots” to terraform and that the majority of the island is in a natural state. The island of Runnerboro has the most un-regioned space it has had in over a year due to the Presidents and the former governments plan to buy back plots in areas needed for terraforming and public amenities. From what I and others have determined Runnerboro is the only island to spend so much time, resources, and money to make sure that all terraforming being added makes the island look more realistic. We also feel that all islands should work together to make sure the islands are in the best shape to fit city standards and make McCities as a whole a better modern community. When the island makes plans we always consider how it will help the server. My main priority has and will continue to be on terraforming and making Runnerboro look as natural as possible. The island of Runnerboro literally at one point was working with 3 blocks to terraform due to private property owned on the island but that didn’t stop the island from adding so many natural features.
> Public Amenities/Plots
Runnerboro has a very nice setup as I have said with the city and economic zone in the middle of Runnerboro and plots around it. We want to make the island have many public amenities for players to enjoy and things for them to do on the island. We are not going to release all the public amenities as we want to keep them secret for future updates but you can most likely expect some the following public amenities: An aquarium, library, a zoo, a bank, a PVP zone, and some others. Most of these public amenities are unique public amenity ideas that were developed by strong planning from Runnerboro government members.
Recently the government has bought back multiple plots on the island to un-region them to use the space for terraforming and public amenities. We have also reported to staff buildings and houses that do not fit city standards. Our goal is to always have the best modern buildings in the city of Runnerboro and we are asking all plot owners in Runnerboro to bring their plots to a modern standard. If you have a build in Runnerboro that you are having difficulties bringing to a modern standard please contact me as I can work something out with you to pay for your arch fees.
> Government Reform
Recently the government has developed new methods to make sure the government is running to the best of its ability including splitting roles in major projects so everyone is bringing his or her ideas and abilities into projects. The government has determined that the government system is one of the best ownership systems for an island as you have multiple brains working together to develop the best plans and get multiple opinions in. Multiple in real life studies have found you have better results when groups work together as you are getting ideas from many directions.
