Right now money is easy to make with /Vote but maybe we could earn more with More realistic ways.

Lottery. In November you can rob the bank. Maybe there should be a month with a lottery (or more) people could have a choice to put in a little and win a lot.

Jobs. I think there could be a few more jobs. Maybe like an engineer who helps with slimefun and earns money by making slimefun.

Mayor. There are staff who help run Mccities, but what if there was a mayor. Maybe you could run for mayor and citizens+ could vote. The mayor would have to be staff approved to run, and would make sure taxes are payed.

Taxes. To make the game more realistic, every so often residents+ would have to pay staff, architects, and police (and mayor) some money.

Hope you consider this!

Like the idea. but i like the concept of supporting citizens in the economy. staff already get paid quite enough. and they wouldn't need the boost of income they already have. unless they get paid less from the services they already provide, this idea would be supported.

Yeah we don't get paid for anything.
Says the richest llayer on the server.
:)
But gonestly nice idea's. Maybe work them out a bit more and think of problems they might cause or why it should not be implemented. Then think of counter arguments.

I think there should be more elections, democracy and leadership. Run it in the way, say, London would, with elections and taxes, vice versa.

The hard experience for new players is laziness and ignorance imo. I'm new and my friend and I each made 1 Mil in the week we've been on individually. The economy is not great but it's not that bad

But that is what I'm trying to say, around a year ago, that would have almost never been possible. Sure, there have been things added which might have affected the rate at which you can earn money, but things such as plot value have drastically changed. What might have been a 100k plot, could now be worth much, much more.

[As an example, I have a medium-large sized plot with a very nice house that I had bought for 50k around a year ago. Recently I have gotten offers for that plot within 300-500k.]

The most logical explanation for this is that the value of $1 is worth less than before. However, this isn't necessarily a bad thing on all fronts. For actual 'gameplay', all this does is allow you to rifle through ranks and get that millionaire tag (which doesn't grant you much of a benefit).

Edit: @Trevor I just wanted to add that I am not meaning to discredit you. I’m sure there are tons of new players who don’t work hard for money. I also think it’s cool how you were able to achieve 1mil in a week, as it’s definitely not an easy feat :)

Yea we dont really get paid for doing the job essentially like cop/arch/staff. Staff only gets cash ( in some cases ) for transfers, if both the player and staff is on and the staff requests to be paid then they the player will pay, but if the player is offline a portion of money is just deleted from the bal. or from my experience atleast, but it only applies for staff who can transfer plots from creative/arch/city. And they also get Vip (regular) upon joining staff, and it allows them to fly etc... this only applies when they are still staff, if they resign or get demoted than rank is taken as its used to help in their job as staff. But if u already had a rank before your higher rank will apply on you.

Cops dont get paid essentially tho we do kinda get benefits sort of, for Sr Cop, you dont need to have a license cause well your the person who makes the license. And some other stuff like we have a place where we can purchase common sf gear that we use to catch criminals, instead of making them all the time. The way we earn is if people bail after we arrest them, not a lot of money, the most I ever gotten in a day was perhaps 50k but i jailed nearly 200 in one day which I worked the whole day but that rarely happens.

For archs they get access to arch world where they have a bigger creative plot ( a lot bigger ). They also have access to world edit which allows them to build a lot faster, sometimes some are allowed to make 2d paintings where they save it using a map, but needs world edit to speed up the process. They usually get paid by players. Archs are usually hired for bigger projects from players such as mansions or islands. Usually players would hire their best archs to do their favorite builds.

I think a big misconception is here as we honestly don’t make a lot of money from the job itself, and building actually takes time so you dont just become uber rich out of nowhere. Yet many of us with the tags seem to be so rich. The thing is most of us are already well off before we joined these stuff. Before you join something that requires much dedication you need to already have a stable life in the game or for most cases atleast. Thats why they require you to get to citizen rank first. Most of the players with tags are also part of companies or groups that join together to earn money as a company, some of which would be sundae or creeper or knight or leanne or joey. A lot of them actually are part of different groups/companies. We don’t use our ranks and tags to solely make us rich. If that were the key answer to how to get rich then why isnt everyone with that tag uber rich. The thing is you need to find your own way to make cash. People irl find things by discovering and use that method they found to make money. Its not merely the common or status quo method, but there are numerous other ways to make money.

I say taxes should be the choice of the island owner. It works out well in a free market system, as if people think that the deals in one island relating to taxes and costs of housing, they go to a different island. It would offer less rich players a better way to get housing, because if taxes are rampant then the houses would most likely cost less money. The island owners would also be able to foreclose on a house if the player doesn't have money for taxes for a while, allowing a more fluid system for island owners, having only the active people owning the houses.

Taxes would be a good idea, but how to implement? Based on amount of money or plot? What if someone cannot pay their tax? Seems like it would result in staff needing to chase players to pax taxes a lot of the time.

Lottery would be a nice idea, but a more original idea of the lottery would be cool, like a different way to hold it or something so it isn't like every other roleplay server.

I kind of agree that the lottery idea should be unique, but what do you mean by 'a different way to hold it'?
