Or just remove the /as resell for these islands, and have staff facilitate the selling of them. It's not like there will be much selling, anyways.

Private islands are usually smaller and cost less than $10m to buy. If these new islands are added, just for "dream estate" purposes, it may actually increase the value of some islands, because people will associate $10m with private islands. But, of course, this doesn't apply to the private...

Public islands are being devalued anyways, with each plot that's regioned. A large part of the island's value is empty space for future regioning, and, eventually, an island will be almost worthless because it can't expand anymore. So some island owners are playing themselves.
