Skytaker153 and Angxl have sold me and my friends a property for 100k. We are all new players and have worked together really hard to obtain our very first property on the server. The goal for us was to buy the already existing appartment building and profit from it on the long run by renting it out. These two guys sold us the property knowing of our intentions to rent it out. So, we bought the listing yesterday (December 14th 2019) and stayed up until 1AM EST to start renovating the building, as the pre-existing appartments were a mess, as well as the lobby. We finished renovating the 10 floors of appartments to rent out today (December 15th), having spent tens of thousands of dollars purchasing items from the shop to furnish the rooms. Once completed, we called FroztyStars (After sending a ticket) to help us out setting up the rental signs as we are inexperienced with that stuff. Frozty then told us that the appartments can't even be rented out as they don't respect the 15x15 area rule which I just found out about (As new players, we aren't aware of all existing rules, especially property as they aren't stated in spawn. This is my first time visiting the forums). Once that's been told to us, I reached out to SkyTaker about the issue, seeking some answers and possibly a settlement in private to resolve the issue. Sadly, he's been very closed about it, stating that he just bought a mansion and refused to resell any of his properties to compensate for the damage done. This is why this case is now before court. We seek hopefully a compensation to the extensive money, time and energy all three of us spent working around the clock refurnishing the entire building.

He also stated that the 100k we spent wasn't a lot, though "what is a lot" is from a subjective perspective and told him that was a lot for us. (It was actually all we owned).

Me and Angxl are deeply sorry that we can't compensate you for your loss. We did not mean to give you false information as we had thought you could rent out the rooms. If you are unhappy with your purchase that is not our fault and you may resell the building.

Hi, my name is Jazz and I'll be handeling the courtcase.

While the claims made by Sky and Angxl were indeed false, it's not 100% their fault. Reading over the rules is something that we highly recommend on the Server and we generally handle the rule: "Not knowing the rules is not an excuse". While ofcourse that logic mostly applies to ban appeals, I do believe it also fits for this type of Court Case.

However the rule can be applied to both sides, and it's visible in the screenshots that the promise for mandany to be able to rent out the apartments to other players influenced his/her decision on buying the region. This is why I've decided the following:

@swordmandany would you be able to give a (low) estimate of your spendings on refurnishing the skyscraper? Make sure to tell us what you have renovated, what kind of blocks were used etc. I would also like to know the region name so I can check everything.

I hope you and @SkyTaker153 are able to make a deal that repays most of the damage. I am not going to force anyone to pay as I believe you two are both very reasonable and probably able to solve this yourselfs. However I suggest part or all of the costs from the renovation are repaid, depending on the amount that was spend.

I am very happy you guys tried to resolve it in private first, and I hope that you are able to resolve it now with the information I have given you.
If you guys are unable to make a deal then just reply here again with a reason why you can't make a deal or hit me up in game so we can work it out.

I will not be willing to pay costs because I don't have the time for that but I am sorry you were misinformed .

If the issue hasn't been resolved, please find me in game as Omni Corp is willing to buy the property above sold cost and reimburse all funds lost with additional compensation for city improvement for the troubles, as well as help find a property that will be suitable for renting out.

I confirm that the issue has been resolved. An arrangement was made with all parties and the building has been sold to a third party.
