So, my parents have been discussing colleges with me. If I want to get into an American/Russel group college I have to start thinking now. ( yes at 13, I know. There's a lot of pressure to succeed, my school makes us do mock GCSEs and sats every year to prepare us ). I'm quite interested in computer sciences *cough @TheDiamondTiger please help me here. I want know more about universities and computer sciences as it's a subject I'm looking to persue. I don't have much coding knowledge but I'm intending to enroll into a course.

I would appreciate any input given,

Édit: izzie shut your face you don't know anything about my school or what we do, feel free to google it :) you don't go there so shut up
Ps. I'm using autocorrect so don't cyber bully me lol

For computer sciences Ivy League schools are usually not the best. In the USA, MIT (Massachusetts institute of technology) is the pretty much the best in computer sciences and engineering.

You have years ahead of you. Considering the fact you're not even in America yet that proves you don't need to be thinking about it. Schools don't make twelve year olds do gcse exams seriously no matter what 'posh' ass school you go to. British SATS are tests taken before you go to secondary school and I'm pretty sure we don't do the American SATS here.

I took an SAT in 7th grade ... Scoring within the top margin (in SAT) is pretty much mandatory for Ivy League schools

There are a few other ways too. Instead you don't do well on the SAT, then you can go to a less prestigious university and transfer in. Policies differ per school, but that works for some of them.

I'm also thinking about majoring in Computer Sciences, a few colleges you could look at could be Colorado School of Mines, Harvard or even a community college depending on your location. But, for the big colleges, it might be harder as the acceptance rate is lower than 20%. If you truly believe that you can do it, go for it, do what you enjoy and I hope the best for you Endy. :p

MIT acceptance rate is 7.9% if I'm not mistaken

It depends what exactly you want to
Pursue in your career. Just because two people both study engineering doesn't mean they will both work for the same company. That would be cool tho XD

Excuse me? My school is a prep school. The ONLY reason it exists is to get you into Russel group and Ivy League universities. I actually do have to think about it NOW, and if you ever comment like this again I’ll tell you where to shove your rudeness

Yes of course! Just like all of your many lies, this one I truly believe! Pretty sure your school isn't prep and most British schools don't specialise in helping you get into American universities. I think that you are too young, but whatever! Shove my rudeness somewhere!2!2! :kappaross:

I live in Britain near Bolton and I know people who know or have been to that school. Also you share so much info about yourself anyone could check this.

That edit is hilarious, defo one for the memory book ;) I'm laughing so much.

But some advice. Don't share your personal stuff. You'll always be told not to share things online and whilst you might find it cheesy and stupid you should really listen. You have put so much information about yourself out there that anyone could find you from the information you deem simple. Don't share your school. That's putting yourself and your classmates into possible dangerous situations. Also, you shared your full name. You may think that sharing things like that won't harm you, but a simple google search can show all of your information. I'm not going to use your information against you, im not going to harm you but I'm only telling you this because I hope you could stop sharing your information so carelessly. I also want you to stop lying, a 'simple google search' also reveals all of your lies. I like to have fun online but I believe I'm serious when it comes to things like personal info, bullying and more. The internet can be a scary place sometimes, you need to be careful. I believe everyone should be cautious when it comes to this. Instead of arguing, think about every lie and bit of information you've told. I'm not an internet stalker, I'm someone who understands and has seen things like this turn really bad. Listen to your teachers, if you're so posh surely they'll teach you something about this.

Yeah don't share your personal identity online like, face reveal, school, where you live and stuff as someone can use this information against you
