- Irma -
I woke up with the sound of rain banging on the shutters. It was pitch black.
Only rare amounts of light showed through the windows.
I go to the kitchen and immediately look outside, and my mango tree fell. It was against the screen.
A huge gust of wind blew onto my screening outside, and every now and then and then it became calm.
But only for brief seconds.
Then, another huge gust of wind blew the trees and the screens, sheets of rain pouring down as if it were a crying child's tears.
Even though it wasn't as bad as we though, we were not the ones getting the eye.
Ever couple of hours, you could see the water in the flooded backyard rising.
Inside the house was dim, and only lanterns lit up the room.
Every so often the power would come on, and I'd attempt to tell what was happen.
Then it went on, off, on... Until it went completely for a couple of hours.
And you could see the outside calming down a bit.
When you went outside, and you could go outside because it wasn't as bad, it was refreshing in some sort of way.
A force of wind would come out of the blue and blow your face, sprinkling it with water.
And when we got bored of the outside, we went inside and played cards.
It was peaceful, but catastrophic.
After the winds and the water settled down, we went outside.
Multiple trees had fallen, and the backyard was somewhat flooded.
The other mango tree in our front yard had fallen in front of our driveway, we are unable to get out for now.
And when I looked outside, the streets were full of the dirty water.
And finally, after a couple more hours, the electricity sparked back up, and I am able to write this.

Thanks for reading ;^)
