Howdy there I to am a fellow mainland American and as @Trump15024 pointed out the mainland US will most likely never be directly attacked by any country especially one with a military as lacking of Iran. Trump's claim of possible attacks on cultural sites is in lessen terms disgusting a move that terrorist groups like Isis and Al Qaeda both used in invasions and conquering of the territories but most likely he is playing the "madman" card. Used by both by Reagan in the cold war and greatly by Nixon in Vietnam you essentially want to to convince your enemy you must just be crazy enough to actually attack or use weapons most would not in an effort to discourage future conflict. It's effectiveness is questionable but I would assume President Trump understands the basics of international law. Iran is a country that can not directly attack US forces as they understand our military mite in a direct conflict would decimate them militarily but what they have proven to be an effective tool for over a decade now is the use of state backed militias or as America deems it "State Backed Terrorism".Or at least an American vs iran war. Both countries are threatning to attack each other if things escalate. Both countries are planning to attack and or do missle strikes on each other's capital cities, and Iran forces say that if America attacks them again, they will attack the white house. Trump says if they do that, America will strike Iran in 52 cultural locations. Iran responded to this by demanding a 800,000 USD reward for trumps head. Things just got real, and I live in America, so I'm scared af right now and don't know where else to vent.

Hey there I would like to add on to this a little. Iran technically speaking is not a Theocracy they have a president but they also have the Supreme leader who essentially is the religious president both coordinate closely so yes they are technically not a Theocracy but the closest country in the world at this time to one. Soleimani certainly an enemy of America a man with the blood of hundreds of US soldiers killed and thousands injured a mastermind of many militia backed plots against US instillation across the middle East so any 'imminent threat' continually being spoken of is simply absurd he has been successfully planning and executing attacks on US troops for almost his entire time in service with Iran Obama and Bush both had opportunities to kill him and choose not with the risk of political fallout of killing a national hero. (source: https://www.thedailybeast.com/why-obama-bush-and-bibi-all-passed-on-killing-qassem-soleimani ) As you pointed out Iran will certainly take advantage of all methods of non-direct attacks against America election influence and Iranian backed militias I would agree they will certainly do so but here is my question Iran as the news reports launched missile strikes against joint US-Iraqi airbases casualties as of 8:51 PM EST for US troops are reported as 0 is this attack not justifiable for the killing of what you said to be there equivalent of a "Secretary of Defense." We take out one of there top military leaders yet expect for them to kill no US troops in response and if they do are willing to retaliate by killing greater numbers of there troops? Any country who has a military leader killed is FULLY JUSTIFIED in retaliation resulting in the deaths of that foreign power which killed the leader. Iran is not a good country, they have a long list of human rights violations and are stuck in ancient times where woman are inferior to men and people should not be free of strict religious laws which govern the lands. That being said Iraq's parliament voted to remove US troops from the country yet we refuse to remove our troops, Parliament the great cornerstone of democracy the greatest representation of what the people in the country want yet we say their people are wrong and we should stay. Soleimani landed in Baghdad the capital of Iraq without interference it is obvious that the Iranian general had a backing in Iraq or he simply would not land in the capital city preparing to travel around. Here's the hit Iraq (shown in the parliamentarian vote and Iraqi citizens helping to surround embassy) does not like the USA and Iran does not like the USA they want us gone we should leave. We are trying to control a people from across an ocean while the inequality of woman is simply put wrong, bullets and bombs will not change that and only once the people or Iran and Iraq realize themselves everyone should be equal will it happen, a foreign power simply can not change the minds of people with it's military the military is meant to kill, capture and destroy not control. The United States needs to learn from their mistakes why does Iran hate us? A joint British MI-6 and CIA named Operation Ajax in which we toppled the peoples ruler Mohammad Mossadeq of Iran and instilled the Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi who had been put in power after WW2 and Soviet occupation of the country. Why do such a move well the Shah was friendly towards a British oil company while Mohammad Mossadeq instead wanted to nationalize the company making the profits greater for Iran, a man wanting more for his own country and less foreign trade....sounds familiar. We toppled the rightful regime reinstalled the Shah who was our choice as western powers and while he did do some good (in the eyes of the west) in the form of the "White Revolution" increasing the private sector and giving women voting rights it was orchestrated by foreign powers and Iran rightfully so felt violated. Eventually an economic boom attributed to oil led to corruption and inequality the Shah used secret police forces to violently maintain power until finally being overthrown January 16, 1979 where he left the country (https://greyartgallery.nyu.edu/2015/12/a-brief-history-of-20th-century-iran/ ) source. We violated a country's sovereignty and since then have chosen Saudi Arabia as our ally of choice in the Middle East leaving Iran to follow nuclear agreements set by us with little understanding of what they want.First, if you live in the US mainland, you have nothing to worry about. Let me give a quick analysis of 1) Whats happened and 2) How a war would play out.
So, President Trump ordered an airstrike to kill Qasem Soleimani, a commander in the Quds Force and a general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard. To put this in comparison, Soleimani could be compared to the Vice President or Secretary of Defense in the Untied States. Soleimani was responsible for the killing and injuring of many Americans and Iraqi forces, was planning attacks on US diplomats and citizens, and was responsible for the attack on the US embassy in Baghdad over the weekend. Iran is a theocracy (aka where priests rule in the name of a God). Iran denies people basic human rights, including the persecution of many in the LGBTQ community, silences dissent by force, and treats women horribly.
There are many ways for Iran to respond. For any person in their right mind, it would not be a good idea to attack US assets (bases, ships, etc) or American military personnel. I have no doubt if this happens President Trump will quickly target Iran with missile strikes (which would lead to devastating consequences for a failing regime). More than likely, Iran will not attack. However, they will most likely use cyber attacks, influence campaigns, and using forces in Iraq to attack our personnel.
However, you have nothing to worry about. No country(s) are going to dare try to attack the United States, defeat the military, overthrow the government, and try to invade the mainland. Remember, Iran (who's economy is failing) wouldn't last very long against the United States. If someone would try to attack the US mainland we are protected by a very sophisticated system of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles. Let's not forget, if a military tried to invade the US mainland it would be nearly impossible. This military would have to fight over 300 million Americans (a lot who are gun owners and are willing to fight), go through multiple climates and natural barriers, and coordinate across multiple timezones.
As for allies of Iran, Russia, China, and other countries wouldn't risk themselves over a US-Iranian War. Yes, Russia might provide support, supplies, and try to fight the US in a proxy war, but Russia's economy is not doing very well and they're not going to risk a war with The United States. China's economy is also not doing well, but they're not going to risk their prosperity for a middle eastern war (they would see this as a chance to leverage President Trump in the current trade war).
So nothing to worry about if we do go to war (highly unlikely). The war would end very quickly.
i love how this equality thing works now its fantasticWhat's rights? All I know is how to make casseroles

We violated a country's sovereignty and since then have chosen Saudi Arabia as our ally of choice in the Middle East leaving Iran to follow nuclear agreements set by us with little understanding of what they want.
For the summary America is a foreign power which interfered in a country's democracy something we have done many times before and rightfully so Iran is upset and has been for nearly 50 years as the US continues to favor other allies in the region (Iraq, Saudi Arabia) and leave Iran to follow our guidelines and agreements with little respect for what they want. Even with the voting of Iraq's parliamentarian telling us they want us to leave we think we know best as the United States. America is in the wrong clear as that our military has been in Iraq for nearly two decades yet we have achieved no stability for ourselves shown in attack on the embassy. We can not dictate what other country's should do and follow morally or ethically by occupying the country with a destructive military force that only gives Iran more justification to fight the foreign invaders, the foreign invaders being America.
LMAO me and riles were joking around. I do support women helping in wars. We would have a stronger army even if the women were nurses, helped make guns, etc. Of course women could fight themselves too. That's my opinioni love how this equality thing works now its fantastic
I mean, equality is they should fight, men should be nurses tooLMAO me and riles were joking around. I do support women helping in wars. We would have a stronger army even if the women were nurses, helped make guns, etc. Of course women could fight themselves too. That's my opinion
Uh guys.I have a very realistic theory.I bet Trump is one of two things. He is actually trump, or hes like the head of the american miltarty.Do you here this!He sounds like a pro! This is kinda scary like i mentioned earlier, maybe hes batman.I Don't want to DIEEE!IFirst, if you live in the US mainland, you have nothing to worry about. I agree that they should fight and men should be nurses. I only say most/some women should participate with things other than fighting since they are typically not as strong. Yes equality is good but men are usually stronger and that's why I think the army should be mostly guys. It sounds bad but I do have a point.I mean, equality is they should fight, men should be nurses too
I would like to make some notes here regarding the status of war.Or at least an American vs iran war. Both countries are threatning to attack each other if things escalate. I agree with much of what you say here, I've just got a few little things to point out.First, if you live in the US mainland, you have nothing to worry about. Let me give a quick analysis of 1) Whats happened and 2) How a war would play out.

Don't believe me? Look it up. Don't jump on the bandwagon and say you hate Trump. He isn't the greatest president but he certainly isn't the worst. Nobody should be afraid of war right now. I would be scared if Russia or another country attacked us, but that's not happening.
